The Burkshire Guest Suites and Conference Center is an 18-story facility owned by the University and operated by Marriott Conference Centers. The Burkshire features 19 meeting rooms for conferences and catered events, as well as 119 suites for overnight guests.
This hotel bills themselves as a conference center. Five years ago my sister and I were planning a surprise 90th birthday party for my mom. We had planned to have it at Goucher College (her alma mater), but at the last minute the party provisions fell through because they were going to be renovating and there would be no water at the venue. We found this out about 10 days before the party.
Since all of the grandchildren were already staying at this facility, we moved the party to here, and they coped magnificently. We had about 50 people, and it WAS a complete surprise (it was the day after her real birthday which was on a Friday so that the out of towners could get there, and we had a celebration on her real birthday at Chuckie Cheese)
A suite for two with a queen bed is $109 (with senior discount) and with a buffet breakfast the same suite is $119. There are 137 suites, with full size kitchen and high-speed Internet access. There is a pedestrian walkway across to the Towson campus, and there is parking in the garage.
Directions: • Follow the Baltimore Beltway I-695 to Exit 27A • Take Dulaney Valley Road to Towson Traffic Circle. Go to Opposite Side of Circle to York Road South. • Go Four Lights to Burke Avenue and Turn Right. • Hotel is Immediately on Right Hand Side.
