If you're looking for something a little different from the cookie cutter high rise hotels in Downtown Boston, 463 Beacon Street might be just what you're looking for. It's located in an Historic brownstone, on a beautiful Back Bay street. A 5 minute walk from the Hynes Convention Center 'T' Station, 463 Beacon Street is very convenient to everything Boston has to offer. Plus, you feel like a local, since the hotel is on a very nice residential street. There are a wide variety of rooms, some with the bathroom in the hall. Also, be aware the hotel is 5 stories high with no elevator. But the ambience and historic charm of the place more than make up for that. We stayed in Room 41, which did have a bathroom and faced Beacon Street. The room was decent sized, not huge but plenty big enough for 2 people. Another plus was the kitchenette which had a sink, fridge, microwave, plates and utensils. We paid $109 per night, when most of the Downtown hotels where charging $150 and up.
Unique Quality: The historic nature of this hotel was the best feature. Plus, being in a terrific residential neighborhood. Very Boston.
Directions: Beacon Street, a half block east of Mass. Ave.
