Revere Hotel Boston Common

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 15, 2013

Formerly the Radisson, the renovated Revere Hotel goes for the boutique angle, with a minimalist spiral foyer soundtracked by music that they could have pulled straight out of my own record collection: Beck, Air, Van Morrison. It made me feel immediately at home, as did the very personable and friendly staff.

The rooms are big, clean, comfortable and well equipped, each with their own balcony with a decent view of downtown Boston. The location is very central. It's in the rough and tumble of the Theater District, which has a reputation for being a little hairy after dark, but it's fine during the day and only a stone's throw from Boston Common - the perfect place to start your tour of the city.

I really enjoyed my stay and the only real downside is that the "boutique" nature of the hotel only stretches as far as the foyer. The hotel itself is constructed from concrete panels and there's little effort to hide this. The rooms are boxy, the balcony is a concrete frame for the window and you can even see where the panels join in the middle of the room. Not a big deal but it stops the hotel from being the something special it seems to be aiming for.

Directions: Take the metro to Arlington Station and walk down Arlington Street away from the park. Turn left into Stuart Street. The hotel is about 200m on your right.

Good Location, Bring Your Own Pillows

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 9, 2005

Hotel is very well located and within close walking distance to the Freedom Trail, the park, and lots of shops. Also very close to the subway.

The hotels and rooms are quite nice and the hotel has an indoor pool and a gym. Each room also has a balcony which is very nice.

Only complaint was the pillows and the conceirge. The pillows are incredibly thin and uncomfortable. The conceirge was very nice; however, his recommendations of where to eat and go were not great. He sent us to the town of Glouster when there was a rain storm, which is the worst place to go when it is raining, and sent us to a restaurant that did not exist (we trekked up and down the street and asked many locals, looking for it)

Unique Quality: Each room has a balcony overlooking Boston

Directions: Near to the Arlington Subway station and near to Chinatown

Good Location

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 15, 2004

Stayed here in 2002 when we were unable to get the Tremont in our package. It's in the Theatre district, close to the Park , but Is quite an ugly building, and I'm afraid I wasn't impressed at all. The Reception Staff were rather off ahnd, especially as they had made a mistake with our booking(no apology given) and tried to fob us off with an awful room. The room we eventually got was OK but I don't think I would recommend this place.

Unique Quality: Good Location

Directions: Theatre District

MY first VT room share.

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 15, 2003

Nathalie, Tamir, and I stayed here a couple nights in March 2003. Nice enough room that served our needs well. It has parking available and the staff was right on with anything we needed.

This predated my learning about hotel chains and loyalty programs and what not so we picked it based on price and that we were sharing it. I would stay here again other than there are too many hilton options for me.

Unique Quality: Centrally located and great views from the room.

Large rooms with views on the city. From the window of our room we could see the Massachusetts State House (see general tips) and Prudential center.

Unique Quality: Back Bay- the perfect location
