We just returned from Boston two weeks ago and really had a nice time. This was our sixth stay at the Harvard Sqr Hotel and it was pleasent once again. The HSH is not anything extravigent but if your there to stay in the room don't stay here. Its has nice rooms for the buck, clean, and efficient. The only issue we had was when the cleaning staff got busy so did the noise in the hall. And speaking of noise, if you choose to stay ask for a room at least half way down the hall from the lift. You can hear it when it dings as well as when the doors open and close. Its not to bad from down the hall. The higher the room number the further away from it you will be. Most of the rooms are the same config and size, non smoking.
Okay, the best view is from the east side of the building or 3rd floor up on the other side. Its not much for facilities, but most of us don't go to a hotel to work out. The place is secure and pass protected at night with staff in the main lobby all night. Pool? Nope. HSH is in a good location for doing just about anything in the Harvard Sqr area. Especially during your walk abouts and you need a facility, you can just go back to the room. Oh yeah, if you tip the room staff they will remember you and take care of you. We always found extra towels in the bath and the room seemed extra tidy.
I'll tell you about what is in the area in another update on eats, pubs, store, and the like. Theme: HotelComparison: least expensiveDirections: about 5 minutes walk from the Harvard Redline T stop. Real easy and there is a underground walk to within about 40 yards of HSH. Real easy to nav the area.
