More about Wequassett Resort and Golf Club

A fantastic resort

by TripAdvisor Member ToohothereinTexas

My wife and daughters and I just returned from a four night stay at the Wequassett Inn Resort and we all had a wonderful time there. The room (premier water view) was almost perfect but the sound insulation between the rooms could be improved since we could hear our neighbor's television set through the connecting door. However, this was only a minor inconvenience that was more than offset by the functionality of the room and the amazing view from our deck. Check in was fast and efficient and the resort is spread out over an easily walkable area. Our room was on one end of the property and the pool, health club, and restaurants were on the other end but it was quite easy to get from one end to the other. The pool was great and my daughters loved it and the beach was perfect for exploring but not well suited to swimming given all the rocks. All of the meals were wonderful and the only problem we encountered was that the Outer Bar and Grille restaurant did not take reservations even for hotel guests and when we showed up at around 7:00 PM for dinner one night the wait was over an hour. There was a movie by the pool that night so we ended up just getting food from the pool bar and eating it poolside while we all watched the movie. The whole resort is very well suited to families and the service was outstanding. The staff was beyond amazing and everyone went out of their way to make sure our stay went well. Overall, I found the Wequassett Inn Resort to be a fantastic place for a family holiday and I will look forward to visiting again.

Wonderfully relaxing!

We recently stayed at the Wequassett Resort as part of the golf package and had a wonderful time. When we checked in, we were upgraded to a watefront cottage and received a nice welcome gift. All our meals at Thoreau's and Twenty-eight Atlantic were fantastic... especially the polenta! The fitness center was newly rennovated and overlooked the bay- all new machines and equipment. The golf at Cape Cod National was fun- the course was just aerated but we had the place to ourselves and were only charged for nine holes. The highlight of the stay was when our friends got us onto Eastward Ho Country Club-- a must if you can get on to play there!

The BEST people/customer service

by TripAdvisor Member glenpark

We stayed at the Wequassett Resort in June, on a trip out to Boston, the Cape, and Maine. We had used Trip Advisor reviews as well as the resort's website to select this resort out on Cape Cod. It sounded/looked lovely on these sites, and our stay exceeded what we saw. Customer service was outstanding from beginning to end. From the bellman to the desk ladies to the bartenders and waitresses, we felt like VIPs from check-in to check-out. The hotel and grounds were beautiful, right on Pleasant Bay. The pool area was wonderful...huge, and beautifully appointed. We loved both Thoreau's and Twenty Eight Atlantic! Outstanding food and service. To top off our memories of this wonderful place, the lady who handled our check-out asked if we were on our way home. When we told her our next destination in Maine, the hotel had a bottle of wine and a lovely note waiting for us at our next resort! First-Class!! We can't wait to go back again. And we'll never forget the memorable first visit there.

Not worth the $$$$!!

We had heard great things about the Wequessett but we were very disappointed. We were there for 3 nights and wished we could have left early. Our suite was nice but nothing special. No VCR, microwave, fridge, fireplace, spa. Spent $45 for breakfast and the food was just OK, and the service was so bad we didn't go back. They say they are in Chatham, but they really aren't. Overall, the service was poor and the property is short on amenities. Not even close to being worth the prices they charge.

Elegant but not stuffy

My husband and I just returned from a 2 week trip throughout the North East to celebrate our 40th anniversary. This was our favorite hotel from the 6 different ones we stayed at. Everything was clean, comfortable and very relaxing. Our room was colorful and decorated in a very refreshing atmosphere. the food in the dining room was super along with the service.( Lobster tempura for breakfst? We did it and enjoyed) I would love to go back to this hotel sometime soon!

Exceeded our expectations!

My husband and I took our 10 year old daughter and 13 year old son here last Aug. Although the first cottage we were given was not to our liking, we were quickly switched to a much brighter location that was absolutely beautiful and centraly located. The bathroom was huge and the room was generously sized for four. We dined in all on the restaurants during our stay and found the food to be very good. The fine dining was a little over rated in my opinion, but very very good (just costly). We also went to several area restaurants, but ask the locals for recs, the conciearge was a little off on what the kids would like. They also rec'd some really touristy places, and we wanted to try some more unique/local spots. The kids loved breakfast, and there were lots of activities to keep them busy. They didn't do the camp, but lots of kids seemed to love it. There is also a launch to take you out to the hotel's private beach. We waited until the last day to go and it simply blew away all the other beaches we had been to during our stay. It was just breathtaking! My husband and son enjoyed all the golf courses they played, the pool was very pleasant and my daughter made a few friends from Europe she have kept in touch with, so all in all a great trip. BTW, would I rec over the Chatham Bars? Tough call, maybe, it's a little more laid back and about 4 min. away from town, but other than that pretty darn close. Also anywhere my husband doesn't have to wear a jacket to dinner gets a higher rating from him!

Planning a trip for next year

We had a great time, the room was comfortable and spacious. We were at the inn for a wedding and the food/service were fantastic. My husband and I are planning a yearly trip.

Outstanding service, excellent food, beautiful setting

by A TripAdvisor Member

My wife and I just returned from the resort, having spent three nights there with my daughter, her husband and their two children. We had two adjoining rooms. Everything was perfect! The resort personnel were unbelievably attentive, going out of their way to ensure we were completely satisfied with our stay. I can only credit the resort's management for having such a well-trained and friendly staff. The renovated pool area overlooking the bay is spectacular, and, if you're a golfer, playing at the Cape Cod National Golf Club is a must. Also a must is spending part of the day at the beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The resort has a power boat that will shuttle you back and forth, and will also provide a box lunch if you want. Speaking of food, the breakfast buffet is outstanding (especially if you like lobster in your omelette), as was every meal we had. We opted for a "garden view" room, which was spacious, clean and stocked with bathrobes, an iron, hair dryer and all the necessary essentials. I enthusiastically recommend the place.

Great but somewhat misleading....golf

by TripAdvisor Member Rayyed

This is an outstanding property....really well organized and the new pool and fitness area is absolutely first class. The rooms are certainly not the standard one would get in the "city" for the price...but in good condition and the ocean views are great. Room number 43 is totally unacceptable at over $800 a night, as it is directly on the pool and the live bands from Thursday to Sunday sound like they are located directly in the room.

The resturants are really good and Atlantic 28 was the best we ate in on Cape Cod....beats the Chatham Bars to death.....our worst meal of the trip!

My major complaint is that they falsely advertise this as a "golf resort" which was a major reason that I booked the stay. As it turns out the hotel gets only 2 tee times from Friday through Sunday and only 4 the rest of the week....not exactly what one would expect from a golf resort. As it turns out, for our stay of over one week, not one single tee time was available.....caveat emptor.....

Still the personnel were super friendly and accomodating and all in all a great play to stay....but not play golf.

Not worth it

by TripAdvisor Member Abstraction

Our room was very dark and had no patio or balcony. Worse, there was an air conditioner that serviced all of the units immediately outside the window - making the room very noisy. Complaints to the management were not met wth much help until they agreed to give us another room in the middle of the night. In addition, the pool was so crowded with children that it made swimming or relaxing impossible. I would not recommend this hotel especially at the high prices.
