Extraordinary experience for history buffs

Very comfortable and pleasant. Extraordinary ambience. See "Unique Qualities" below.

Unique Quality: This is a treasure for anyone interested in history. Instead of staying at a B&B that's just an oldish house spruced up with motel-like comforts inside, and then going to visit a historical site where you can't touch anything, here you can directly experience the real deal. Check out the fireplace from the 1600s, practically big enough to sleep in. You'll actually sleep up the narrow stairs in an original bedroom. Obviously that changes things from the normal experience: no 17-and-18th Century single-family stucture is going to accomodate a restoration that puts the bathroom ensuite, for example. But it's comfortable nonetheless. The proprietor is no amateur: she's a professional historian by trade, and she has accomplished a fine balance between accurate restoration and modern comforts. She'll tell you anything you want to know, but not lecture either -- so you can have whatever level of historial experience you're in the mood for. A real find.

Q: Real Crow's Nest? "So where is the real Crow's Nest? It's part of our travel itinerary and would love to see, even if it doesn't look like it does..."
