I've stayed at the Languedoc Inn and thought it was nice. It's got a couple of basic rooms with shared bathroom or a nicer room with its own bathroom. The rooms are above the restaurant Le Languedoc, which is an amazing French/New American restaurant with a formal dining room menu and a more casual "cafe/patio" menu. It's really good and it's in the center of the "town" area. I highly suggest you check it out.

We stayed at the Union street in one year, but preferred renting a private home from Nantucket Retreats. They had a nice beach house in Quidnet that came with high speed internet access, daily housekeeping, private chef and kayaks. Plus we had our own private beach right out the back door!

We spent five days in Nantucket a few years back. It has some wonderfully fresh seafood, bikepaths that are incredible, a bus system that is fast, cheap and efficient. It is also massively expensive to stay there and if you go in the high season, phenomenally crowded.
