The cape in the morning....
by kazander
Waking up at 4:30 am when the sky is still pearly grey, quickly getting dressed and quietly sneaking out of the house to drive just a few miles to Highland Light. Everything was deserted and perfectly quiet, save for the waves and a few scampering bunny rabbits...After a few photos in the perfect morning light, we drove into Provincetown, where the usually teeming streets were virtually empty. We found the only place that was open and grabbed a couple cups of coffee and some blueberry/cheese croissants. Treats in hand, we crossed the street to join the early bird fisherman and the dog walkers to enjoy our breakfast. It was so peaceful and cozy and perfect.
Earthly Location

Oh yes, It is indeed a rare thing to know your exact longitude and latitude at any given time, however, as it happens, after an evening of Sambuca shots and harrassing a poor guy on the beach who owned a global positioning thingy we know the exact location of North Truro on the face of the planet. We even wrote in down on the fireplace to prove it.
Songs O' The Briny
by emilienoelle
As most of you may already know, a seaside holiday is just not the same without a few sea shanties to serenade you to sleep. Of course this is easier said than done unless you've got the crew of a 19th Century whaling ship handy, but we've got the solution: Dan Zanes' "Sea Songs". Yes, this is the real deal, complete with all of your yo ho ho's and widowed fishermen's wives staring longingly out to sea. It also sounds really good with the pounding surf in the background when accompanied by a fine mug of ale. In fact, this is the only CD allowed to be played in our cottage most of the time. But don't just take my word for it; try it for yourself!
Follow the Rules!
by emilienoelle
Whether you stay at Days' Cottages like we do or at some other likewise establishement there will most likely be rules that you have to abide by if you don't want to get kicked out. Over the years we have all memorized Days' rules and can recite them verbatim. An especially fun thing is pointing out when someone is breaking one of the rules and calling them on it because it happens about once every 5 minutes. Usually, someone ends up finding an old scrap of paper and starts a running tally of who breaks which rules how many times and hangs it on the fridge.
