by ABL1958 I made reservations for a motel from an internet service I found through the Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce. I strongly suggest that you go this route as well, if you're traveling to the Cape in the months of June, July, and August. To try to find a place while you're at the Cape is difficult as vacancies are a rarity. While I was there I couldn't help but notice one 'No Vacancy' sign after another. Off peak (considered October through April) gives you cheaper rates and less traffic and a wider choice, but there are also many motels, hotels, and restaurants that close for the winter season. I think the Cape has it's charm in any season, but these are things to keep in mind. The price range of hotels and motels is between $66 USD/day to $350 USD/day. If you're at the Cape to enjoy the Cape and spend little time at the motel or hotel, then why not go cheap? I did and we were more than satisfied. An example of 'cheap' is the Thunderbird motel at $66/day, where I stayed. The picture doesn't show it's outdoor pool, barbecue pit, or indoor heated pool. The rooms are clean and have all the amenities you need for the night, although I think the carpet could be replaced :-). Theme: MotelComparison: less expensive than average

I've stayed all over PTown, but keep finding myself drawn back to the Provincetown Inn. It's a bit more family-oriented than I might want in my fantasy hotel, but its location is the best. Right at the tip of PTown, overlooking the town, the breakwater, and the moors. I mean moops. It depends where you're staying. The great thing about it is its size. You can stay in rooms that are around $100 if you don't want to see water. We like to stay in one of the Captain's Suites with masterful views of the bay, king size beds, a fridge and stove, tvs, etc. About $350 a night.
For me it's all location. I love being on the tip of the town. Super-romantic day and night, with a pool that overlooks the town and beach, and a short bikeride to a great National Seashore beach that is segmented into gay male/gay female/straight folks. Quite cool. Theme: InnComparison: more expensive than averageDirections: At the end of Route 6. As far as you can go on the Cape. Drive 'til the road ends and you're in their parking lot. Also nearby there is Land's End Inn, with dreamy rooms and a great spot on the hill,Other Contact: www.provincetowninn.com

The Beaconlight has a very upscale decor, which is an initial draw, but once you check in, the lack of attention to detail is appalling for a "high end" establishment. You might be surprised to stay in one of the "Fireplace" suites, which is billed as having an extra "touch of luxury," then find yourself having to swipe soap from the shared bath down the hall because your room is stocked with only a single hotel-size bar for the whole week. The situation was the same with towels. And, though a Senseo coffee maker is provided, it also was stocked with a used coffee pod that the prior guest had used and the cleaning staff had not removed. Similarly, the cooling element in the in-room refrigerator had iced over so solidly that the refrigerator door would not close. How does the cleaing staff not notice such a thing? WiFi access throughout the house? Only if you are satisfied with exceedingly slow service and being bumped repeatedly. The salt in the wound comes in the form of a note in the room, which states that the suggested gratuity for the cleaing staff is a whopping 10% of your total bill, which would have amounted to more than $200 for a one week stay. Given that the cleaning guy was in and out in 1/2 hour on the day I saw him "clean" the room, that "tip" would have amounted to an wage of $60 an hour -- nice work if you can get it. If you want luxury, or any hint of pampering, look elsewhere. We booked two nights at this great guesthouse and extended our stay to four nights (wish it could have been more). The hospitality and friendlyness here comes from the heart and is genuine. The rooms are super clean and wonderful decorated. Every detail is thought after and makes a stay an experience! The Spa was such a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. The Steam Room is huge and absolutely beautifully tiled. You feel like being transported to some Oriental place. The Spa area was clothing optional (another nice European touch) and offered a regular Sauna (a bit small) and an outside hot tub !!
Octogonal Steam Room with oriental tiles Wonderful Japanese Style gardens GREAT ! Breakfast Happy Hour - great way to meet other guests! Without a doubt the best place in ptown to stay, sure there are finer inns with spas and all the luxuries you could eat! but for relaxation in a comfortable and friendly environment you cannot beat the carriage house in provincetown. Did I mention the price? not too shabby...even in high season, the most we have ever paid in August was $275. Off season or early season are more like $125-$150. They are going to kill me for this, their rates are probably higher. Anyway you get the point, check it out, great rooms, fab breakfast, nice hosts. Angus is the funniest guy on the planet and bradley is the cutest golden retriever around.
rooms with private entrances, great location, great breakfast, fresh quiche and waffles made to order. Hot tub, friendly..... The rooms are run down and the staff is not accommodating. They certainly don't work with their repeat guests. I am a travel professional, and can't believe the poor lack of service, and complete nastiness when confronted with a problem. They take no initiative to keep their guests coming back. In my opinion the place needs a complete refurb!!!! I would not recommend this place to any of my clients or travel professional friends. I would say buyer BEWARE Theme: InnPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 6 Conwell St., , Provincetown, Massachusetts 02657
