Travel Tips for Rockport
WALK AROUND TOWN SEE THE...
WALK AROUND TOWN SEE THE SITES AND EAT ICE CREAM! TAKE A BOAT RIDE OUT TO THE SMALL ISLANDS OF THE COAST AND SEE WHAT THE MAIN LAND LOOKS LIKE>>> I HAVE BEEN GOING TO ROCKPORT FOR OVER 40 YEARS. IT'S IN MY BLOOD! I SHOW UP ABOUT ONCE A MONTH TO CHECK OUT THE SHOPS AND TAKE PHOTOS.....
I will always remember climbing on the rocks, just exploring after I had graduated high school. It was about that time that the song 'Spoon Man' was still popular...well, saw this guy and his son, and I couldn't help but sing, 'Speedo Man...' so whenever I see this picture I will always be reminded of that day!
Rockport is a typical little...
Rockport is a typical little puritanical New England town in that it is 'dry' -- i.e., no alcoholic beverages can be sold, not even in restaurants. If you bring your own beer or wine, however, most places will gladly serve it to you along with your meal.
The Paper House
Yes, that is correct. The house is made out of paper. It has stood the test of time cause I remembered it from when I was a kid on a trip with my parents. It has been standing there open to visitors for just a donation at the door. Intrigueing and quite photographable. Just a quirky little stop along your way.
Old Garden Beach and Pebble...
Old Garden Beach and Pebble Beach. Most tourists stay downtown and visit Front and Back Beaches. Divers favor Old Garden Beach, but tourists are discouraged by the residents-only parking. Stickers are required and the police are annoyingly overzealous about this sort of thing. Ask the Rockport Chamber of Commerce for more info at (978) 546-6575.
