More about Liberty Hill Inn
Thank you John and Kris!
The beds: The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable and clean. The four-post bed is just right and a great way to end the day. The bathroom is great, and I had a wonderful time soaking in the claw-foot tub in their herbal bath salts.
The breakfasts: These guys take their breakfasts seriously! Broiled grapefruit, poached apples in cream, muffins, orange-cranberry scones, vegetarian frittata, sausage, hashbrowns, juice, endless delicious coffee. Amazing.
The Innkeepers: Extremely friendly and helpful with directions and advice--even offered transportation to the Ferry. Very down to earth and hospitable.
We're so glad we happened to find such a wonderful place to stay on a trip that turned into a romantic engagement trip! We'll never forget the Liberty Hill Inn & are already planning our trip back. Highly recommended!
It couldn't be better!
Five days flew by in the care of John and Kris. Their beautiful home was shared with strangers in a way that made us feel like family. Every comfort was graciously provided and our innkeepers were always one step ahead of us. Our room was elegantly decorated and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and helped us to an energetic start to our days on the cape. On the way home we were already trying to figure out when we could book our next visit! Thanks John and Kris!!
Liberty Hill Inn - a delight!
Our 4-night stay at Liberty Hill Inn was truly a pleasure - despite 1-1/2 days of rain! John & Kris are wonderful "inn keepers". In addition to running a beautiful / elegant B&B, they have generosity of spirit & are extremely helpful (far beyond our expectation!) to guests unfamiliar with the area. Surrounded by magnificent grounds, there is a large, gracious old main house plus a relatively new house with additional suites. We stayed in the new building and never heard a sound from another room. King size bed is top grade. A gas fireplace in our room took the chill from the air on our springtime, rainy evenings. The room we had is beautifully decorated - with windows on three sides!
In the great room of the main house, we relaxed after dinner each night with a glass of port... set out for guests to help themselves. Can't say enough for Kris' fantastic breakfasts served in a bright, cheerful dining room. We actually suggested he reduce the size of his portions!!! Every day Kris made a different breakfast... each one fantastic. I will always remember his wonderful scones.
A note to consider: we were guests at Liberty Hill Inn just before high season began. I don't know if John & Kris would be able to offer the same personal extras (ie: planning when, where and what to see while on Cape Cod) in high season. But their personalities are warm & welcoming & they will surely be available to offer advice.
Make a special trip to stay here!
We stayed at Liberty Hill Inn on the first night of our tour of Cape Cod - the house is beautiful, the rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable, down pillows and luxurious mattresses and so quiet. The house is really beautiful and relaxing and you feel so welcome and at home. John and Kris are the perfect hosts and make a cracking breakfast!
What really made our trip though was "John' tour" - he took so much time and trouble to map us out a tour of the cape including places to stay, places to visit and things to see you wouldn't normally find on your own and even where and when to see the perfect sunset! It made our trip and we can't thank you enough Kris & John - we also can't recommend the Liberty Hill Inn highly enough - stay here!
Beautiful Inn - Great Hosts!
While on a trip to Cape Cod visiting with family, we stayed at the 9 room Liberty Hill Inn located in Yarmouthport. The inn is set back from the corner of Willow Street and 6A, right across the street from the original "Christmas Tree Shop" (for those of you interest in local treasures). The innkeepers, John and Kris, did a great job taking care of us on our visit. We stayed in the Carriage House in the Eldridge room with a queen sized canopy bed and a large bathroom with whirlpool tub. The room was beautiful, the inn was very clean (making my girlfriend very happy), and the breakfasts Kris prepared and John served each morning were great. We will definitely recommend this inn to family and friends visiting Cape Cod!
My husband and I stayed for one week. Excellent all around. John and Kris are wonderful! Super breakfast - best of any B&B anywhere. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Two cute dogs in residence. Location is very convenient. We will definitely return on our next visit to Cape Cod.
Peace and relaxation
As we were on our first trip to Massachusetts, we found the welcome in April at the Liberty Hill Inn to be a very relaxed one. After spending a couple of days in the hustle and bustle of Boston, the home of John and Kris was such a contrast with a very laid back atmosphere, a beautiful room and a chance to have a leisurely breakfast and chat about the highlights of the local area. Cape Cod is now indeed one of our favourite destinations and we would gladly return to the Liberty Hill Inn in the future. By the way John, the ghost in the local restaurant has the surname 'Powell' who must surely be one of our long lost relatives! Thanks again.
We LOVE this place!
This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and we'll never stay at a hotel again! This place was amazing. Kris makes the most delicious breakfast with more food then can possibly be consumed in one sitting. Despite the inn being full, the service was impecable. Our room was beyond clean. We tried to find a speck of dust and could not! The inn was immaculate and Kris and Jon were very friendly and helpful. Jon made reservations for us at a fantastic restaurant and recommended great local walks, etc. The inn had an overall feeling of warmth and comfort and I cannot wait until our next visit. Later in the week we stayed at a supposedly more "upscale" B&B and it did not even come close to Liberty Hill. We highly recommend this inn.
If you're thinking of going - Go!
The Liberty HIll Inn is a beautifully appointed Inn - and spotless - definately passes the "white glove" inspection! Innkeepers John & Kris went well above & beyond the call of duty to assure that our stay was pleasant & peaceful. Kris's breakfasts are fabulous and such a nice way to start the day. Because of John's advice, we got to explore parts of The Cape that the typical tourist wouldn't know even existed. All in all, we give The Inn an A++++++ rating and have already recommended it to as many friends & family as will listen!
Liberty Hill is an absolute gem!
This Inn is wonderful. My husband and I were happily greeted by one of the hosts, John, who made us feel completely welcomed from the moment we walked in the door. We later met Kris, who was equally as gracious. As we were going on a day trip to Martha's Vineyard the next day, John offered to take us to the port to catch the ferry so we wouldn't have to pay to park our car the whole day, and he offered to pick us up! Talk about service above and beyond!
And the breakfasts were absolutely superb.....first class! We'd wake up every morning anxious to sink our teeth into Kris' wonderful home-made muffins. Everything was impeccible, from the table setting, to the wonderful soft classical music playing in the background.
The Inn itself is decorated beautifully. Our room was was done in a beautful "cranberry" color, with beautiful floral accents. The extra touches that were included were top-notch!
The grounds are absolutely magnificent! It was wonderful to sit outside and watch the fireflys, while drinking a glass of wonderful port....incredibly peaceful..
I'd highly recommend and encourage visitors to Cape Cod to take advantage of this wonderful Inn. You will NOT be sorry!
