The West End Grill is the best...
by mccon
The West End Grill is the best run place in town, and the food is usually good.
They need deep and lasting help with their wine list, though. Bella Ciao went through
a dark space last year, but they've recovered, seems like, and they're the place
to go for Italian wine. The Earle has the most extensive list, but the food is
spotty - eat in the Wine Bar, not the main dining room. The Kerrytown Bistro remains
my favorite for any number of reasons.
Good service is rare in Ann Arbor. Try the Kerrytown Bistro, Bella Ciao, and
Bistro on Main for old-line, professional wait staff. Otherwise, be prepared for
an evening with a frustrated Educational Psychology PhD candidate, struggling
to get your wine uncorked. Eat meat at European-menu places in Ann Arbor. Our vegetarian and Asian
restaurants are almost universally mediocre, some terrible -- the exception being
the newly opened Yotsuba, which is very good indeed.
The Earle
by tiffm about The Earle
It's probably my favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor. It is downstairs in a sort of cellar type atmosphere (in a good way!) All the food is great, they have live jazz some nights, and the largest wine cellar in Ann Arbor. It's a little pricey, but the food's good enough that it doesn't matter Any of the dishes with duck in them
Michigan Football Game
by annarborsef
While the game itself may or may not be so interesting, the neighborhood surrounding the stadium is transformed into a big festival and outdoor barbeque. And win or lose, the people really make the most of the atmosphere and fellowship.
Adjacent Pioneer Hiigh School becomes a sea of campers the night before a game. Tents, and children playing and thousands of cars overtake sections of the nearby university golf course. As the stadium capacity (107,501) is nearly the population of the city, be prepared for some traffic before and after the game.

"Visting Ann Arbor and the countryside"
My friend who lives in the city took me to an ART EVENT.
it was really great, 4 -5 different artshows happening all at once for 3 days
in the town of ANN ARBOR
On the weekend , we went to her lake house.
I was particularyly taken by the EARLY EARLY morning light coming up over the lake.
Hope you like it too.
