Vitosha Guest Haus
We Wouldn't Go Back
The property is an interesting and charming old building, and rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable. The bed itself was great and we had a good night's sleep (the room was cold even with the heat on, which was fine with us since we prefer a chilly room to sleep in, but others who prefer a bit more warmth probably would have had issues). On the down side, the breakfast was unremarkable and consisted mostly of cold breads and cereals and fruits.
The worst part of our stay was dealing with the owner, who we thought had a very off-putting and caustic personality that was entirely inconsistent with a level of hospitality and customer service that one would expect to encounter at a B&B. We felt more like intruders that were being tolerated rather than guests who were being graciously welcomed into a home for an evening. Traveler reviews on other travel rating sites seem to indicate that we are not alone in our experience. We would not want to risk dealing with the owner again and so would not go back as long as she is on the premises; when Vitosha hangs out an "Under New Management" sign, we'll be anxious to return.
Unique Quality: Interesting architecture and furnishings.
