The greatest asset of Big Rapids and Mecosta County has to be the Muskegon River. This beautiful, clean river flows through Big Rapids and has fostered the title of "tubing capital of the world". It is great fun to tie your tubes together and float down the river for a couple hours!

The population of this quiet town doubles when Ferris is in session. Ferris is a great university and home of the Bulldogs.
