Dump stuck in the 70's
The location is very nice, but that's where the positives end. The rooms smell old and musty. The decor is dark wood paneling. The bathroom is dark and the shower head comes down to most people's chins. The water pressure is also very light. There is insufficient parking on the grounds and you may be stuck parking on a side street. The "free" breakfast is nothing more than coffee, apple juice, plain cheerios, and bagels. Go to Flapjacks or one of the bakeries down the street for a much better breakfast. We came to town for a wedding and talked with several other guests staying in other rooms there (there were a block of rooms reserved for us), and we all had the same opinions of the place. Next time we come to this lovely little town we will definitely be staying someplace much nicer. It's not worth $50/night, let alone the $130+ (after taxes) they get away with charging.
Unique Quality: Small pool. Within walking distance to the shops, parks, and Lake Michigan.
