It's a clean little motel, perfectly suitable for a non-assuming couple. Friendly proprietor. The only problem we had was that even though there are 8 or so rooms in the motel, the owners put the only two couples (us and another) into adjacent rooms. It's not so great hearing the other couple's TV rage while one shouts to the other that he can't find the remote, and which apparently he never did find. Fortunately we had good weather and were inclined to walk about town.
If you are camping, and visiting Copper Harbor Ft. Wilkins State Park contains a campground as well as the fort. This 700-acre park offers picnicking, hiking trails, boat ramp, boat rental, bicycle and hiking trails as well as the interesting fort.
Attached to the Harbor Haus restaurant is an interesting looking suite with a panoramic view of Lake Superior and a whirlpool bath that serves as a bed and breakfast. Information, photos, price, and reservations for this suite can be obtained on their website. There is only one suite, so plan ahead and call or make your reservations on line. The cost of the suite includes a delicious breakfast. (The Harbor Haus Restaurant is my favorite restaurant in Copper Harbor!) To see a view of this bread and breakfast from the lake, check out my second photo.
