You are on vacation in Detroit. It is summer. It is blisteringly hot.

So take the kids and drive to Dearborn IceSkate Center.
Year round frigid temperatures. Skate rentals in just your size.
After an hour in here, you will be able to stand the sweltering heat outside at least until the sun goes down.

easy to get to: 14900 Ford Rd
I-94 to Dearborn exit, go north on Wyoming Avenue about one block and connect to Ford Road. Go west on Ford Road. near the Ford Woods Park you will see the skate hall.
