Stay in Grand Blanc or Auburn Hills
There are no decent hotels in Flint. The Wingate is OK, but your best best is to drive 30 min. to Auburn Hills. Newer hotels due to the old Chrysler Headquarters.

Wingate Inn--even though this...
Wingate Inn--even though this hotel is in Grand Blanc it is just blocks from Flint
Unique Quality: New hotel--very reasonably priced ($90 nite) with a good gym (treadmill, stairmaster, free weights, indoor jacuzzi, and indoor pool) Continental breakfast included--including fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals--everyone was very friendly and in the lobby every cold winter nite they have hot apple cider. oh yes, and they also have free internet access.

We stayed at Walli's in...
We stayed at Walli's in Burton, clean place, nice attached restaurant, and very reasonable cost.
I paid $50 a night.
Unique Quality: Hot water for tea and coffee available all day long.
