Was driving from Detroit to Grand Rapids, it was a very interesting and exciting drive. We'd drive and forget which place we're in. We stop by McDonald's and ask which that name of this place. This was also the first time looking at Farms instead of in the books. Really cool.
One of my favorites is the Cygnus atop the Grand Plaza hotel. Rembrandt's in the Bridgewater Center is also very nice.
Since it's on the top of the tallest building downtown, the 360 degree view is magnificent. I loved the Walleye Pike coated in hazelnuts.
I lived in Grand Rapids for five or six years. I landed their because of school. I went to college there. After school was over I just kept hanging around. I got to know the area pretty well.
GR is a city with small town feel and some urban promise. There are gobs of churches, a great library, a million Dutch people and a contaminated river.
I am in my third year at Calvin College in Grand Rapids. I transferred to Calvin last Janueary (2000) and I am a theology major there. I love the school, but I have to admit that Grand Rapids gets boring compared to the Twin Cities! However, my friends rock, so I can handle it!
