Party of four adults (3 skiers, 1 non-skier) seeking snow options in Michigan. Pref resort that offers other activities than just skiing (snowmobiling, dogsledding, spas etc). In brief searching it looks like most michigan resorts are small and only aimed at skiers. Any advice?
Our city borders with Detroit Michigan, so many of us visit this great state to enjoy what it has to offer. I have heard good things about Crystal Mountain Resort in Upper Michigan, 28 miles south of Traverse City. I hear they offer package deals including lodging and skiing. You might want to check them out to see what else they offer.
In addition to Crystal Mountain, Boyne (which is north of Traverse City, near Petoskey), also has a very good reputation for being a larger-scale resort destination.

I grew up skiing in Michigan and my vote would be for Boyne (I learned to ski at Boyne Highlands). It offers two different ski areas, The Mountain and the Highlands with runs for all abilities. There are plenty of non skiing activities, such as tubing, ice skating and the like, they have a spa... Definitely something for everyone...
What a great town! Harbor Springs is about a 20 minute drive from Charlevoix (Mackinac Island is about a 45-1 hour drive to either one). Harbor Springs is FULL of B&B's, great restaurants, wonderful shopping, marina with all types of yachts to see and wonderful sightseeing.
