Arriving to Holland without any reservations or idea where to stay, it becomes obvious that most of the hotels are along the highway and very few options exist inside the city center.
I stopped at a few, but was not overly impressed. The City Flats was an easy choice. The staff was extremely kind and personable. They are not affiliated with any chain hotels, but do offer discounts for AAA members (~$120/night).
The hotel is clean, modern and located right in the center. It is within easy walking distance to everything in the historic center of town.
Unique Quality: The hotel is the first in the Midwest to be accredited with environmental US Green Building Council stamp. You may not notice it from your stay, but its water usage, laundry facilities, electrical devices, heating and insulation, etc. all make it extremely efficient and comfortable.
Each room is uniquely arranged and decorated. They all have massively comfortable beds, flat screen TV's, desks and spacious bathrooms, but no two are the same. All have high ceilings too. The walls and ceilings are concrete, so noise from within may echo a little, but you do not hear anything from outside.
Parking, WiFi and continental breakfast are complimentary.
