The poet Carl Sandburg didn't have many nice things to say about Kalamazoo. Something along the lines of "I've seen you in a million other places." But actually the city is very pleasant, minor league baseball park notwithstanding. The presence of two univeristies: Western Michigan and the small, liberal arts Kalamazoo College add a youthful vitality. My good friend went to the latter and it is our opinion that Kalamazoo College girls are prettier, cooler and way more hip than WMU girls.
