Secluded B&B

This small B&B has only about five rooms, but they're all quite spacious and mercifully quiet. There's a great wraparound porch out front that's hidden behind large lilac bushes, and the little cottage is set at the very edge of town just past Mission Point, where wilderness and the bike path (or M-185) take over. It's far enough outside the general chaos of town that you can get a great night's sleep, but it still has that characteristic charm of the island. Even the structure is very unique. The owners have bikes there for rent, and a simple breakfast is served each morning (toast, muffins, fruit and juice). The bathrooms are shared for the most part I believe, which isn't a problem since there are so few guestrooms.

Unique Quality: For those who are interested in the more supernatural side of things, this bed and breakfast is rumored to be one of the most haunted buildings on the island. Local books and guests describe various apparitions appearing and strange noises happening in the night, though we didn't experience any of this while we were staying there. The building is also of a unique Gothic structure, with a high, peaked roof that is much different from most of the other buildings on the island.

A Quaint B & B

About 10 years ago, we happened to find a vacancy at the Small Point (in August!) after biking around the Island while on a spontaneous day trip. We have stayed there ever since. It is homey and quiet, unpretentious and clean. I recommend it for those individuals seeking easy access to Town but not wishing the accompanying noises, other than people biking by saying, "Oh, look. Here's a cute spot."

Unique Quality: Super proprietors - John and Lois, Jim and Judy!
They rent bikes by the day - very reasonable.
