My husband and I have stayed here twice and continuously recommend it to others! I used to work at a hotel chain in Chicago and not once do I recall walking into a room and taking a deep breath and thinking how wonderful the room smelled! Both times we stayed here the rooms smelled like a beautiful floral garden. Amazing. And, they were cleaner than any rooms I've ever been in!
The rooms are very simple, but extraordinarily clean.
They do offer discounts to individuals over the age of 48 plus a free continental breakfast.
If you are traveling by boat there are two nice marinas in Marquette. If you have a shallow draft boat in the 5’ or less range Presque Isle Park is a lovely place to dock your boat. Here you will find a number of hiking paths and bike trails, an outdoor swimming pool, and lovely shaded picnic spots. If you have a deep draft boat like ours, then Cinder Pond is the place for you. This is a well-developed marina located in Mattson Lower Harbor Park, just below the down town area with its shops and restaurants. If you have bikes on board this marina is also near a nice bike path. We carry small folding 5 speed bikes—odd looking, but a lot of fun to have along. This path will take you on an easy trip to Cinder Pond and its hiking trails, beaches and a number of other places.
For your information only. There are a wide range of other motels including family owned and chains such as Comfort suites, Days Inn, Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn, and Super 8 to name a few. For information on some of the other motels in Marquette my listed web page, then type in Marquette, Michigan, United States and do a “quick search”.
Budget Host-Brentwood Motor Inn is a no frills motel. If you don’t want a lot of extras you can get a comfortable nights rest in this well kept up, clean motel. It is also one of the most reasonable priced motels in the area. In the summer of 2002 our room was $45 per night for two. This price includes a continental breakfast, which you pick up in the office, and carry to your room, so be sure to take your room tray with you in the morning. The choices are usually sweet rolls, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice.
I have always stayed at the Tiroler Hof. It was built by an Austrian Husband/Wife team. They have since retired but still live on the grounds. The current owners are doing a fine job. The husband is Austrian and the wife is American. What can I say, they are integrating.
I usually stay off season because I like the fall and winter. The price is about 40-45 US dollars. I will get a phone number soon.
