Double Jj Ranch
We are having a great time so far! I must agree the walls are very paper thin. This has not been to much of an issue for us though. One issue we had upon arriving was that we were told we were reserving a 3 bedroom log home and when we got the key and got to the home it was a cabin with one room and a loft.. That just didnt not work for us as we have a two year old and the stairs leading up tithe loft are very steep and our son love to climb so we went back to check-in and talked to them about the mess up and they made it right... Other than that it has been a great stay.. I would recommend the Double Jj to my family and friends.. Also they are pet friendly which is great most places are not anymore...
Unique Quality: There is so much to do and see... A great place to bring your children, they will be kept busy all day.
Us kids all get together each Christmas and try to find somewhere neat to send our parents for their Anniversay--which is in February. We have sent them to the Shack, Double JJ Resort, etc, but would like to send them a little further south (south of Holland anyway) this year. Any ideas on neat, AFFORDABLE places to stay for a couple enjoying their time away and anniversary (hint: privacy needed!) and we are also looking for an area that may have a lot to do that time of year. Shopping is always good, but any events or such anyone knows of? Would like to throw in a little something different this year....would love to hear your thoughts & ideas!

How about Frankenmuth? Snowfest is the first week of February.
Travel Tips for Rothbury
Friendly people, neat old-style bar
by markn74
The only bar in town, Rothbury Tavern, was a hoot to visit-- it had appeal and character. Meeting many of the locals who hang out at Rothbury Tavern on a Saturday. They were so friendly-- something you just don't find in larger towns.
Friendly Village

Spent a Saturday night at the Rothbury Tavern -- singing Karaoke. It was a blast! Met many local people who were very friendly and made us feel at home. What a nice atmosphere-- reminds me of what a great place a small town can be. This is a 'Recommend' on my list of places to visit.
