St. Ignace - The Gateway to the U.P.
"Four Seasons of Fun"
Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, St.Ignace has it all. Spring brings a new beginning. The birds return, the animals come out of hibernation and flowers are popping up everywhere. The fish are running in the rivers and the trees are blossoming. It's a wonderful time of year.
Summer brings the fudgies (tourists). They come to fish, boat, hike, bike, sightsee, daytrip to Mackinac Island, camp, lounge on the beach and more.
When Fall arives the fudgies leave and the kids go back to school. It's my favorite time of year. The air cools and the leaves on the trees turn to vibrent colors. The trails are empty and there isn't a line for anything. It's a very relaxing time of year.
Winter brings snow and snow brings snowmobilers. St. Ignace is the trailhead to the U.P. You can get anywhere in the U.P. on a snowmobile. It's a great way to take a winter trip.
