Painting in the Great Outdoors
by riorich55
As we continued our walk around town, slipping into an out of the many studios and other types of eclectic type shops we also stopped and watched 2 different lady painters applying their visions to their canvasses. The lady in the first picture was behind the town's bandshell and painting a scene along the inlet. In her picture was a couple seated on a bench.
Our 2nd picture is of the artist talking to those 2 people who she had been painting.
Finally, the 3rd picture of another artist near the gardens we had just walked through.
Saugatuck
by Mundus
A great little city, specially during low season. During summer it gets to chaotic.
Tucked into sandy dunes on the southeast coast of Lake Michigan, the town has inspired artists since the founding of the Ox-Bow School near the turn of the century. Victorian homes, built by lumber barons, are now B&Bs and galleries.
Known as "Michigan's Art Coast," Saugatuck is unique in its combination of culture and summer fun! Whether your interests include cruising the many art galleries in the Saugatuck/Douglas area, watersports, sunbathing, fishing or dining out at premiere restaurants, all tastes can be indulged.
