Tawas Point State Park: Awesome Camping

The staff was very helpful in suggesting a more private lot, #132. It was one of the few tent sites, mostly campers. It was a beautiful site though, right next to the entrance of the walking trail that heads out to the lighthouse. It was a grassy site too, which kept everything much cleaner. We were only about 5 lots from the PRISTINE bathrooms and showers. I've never seen such well maintained campground bathrooms! All sites have fire rings, and there are a few small cabins available for rent. We did the entire hike out to the point in hopes of finding the fox den and seeing the babies. We did find the den but nobody was home. The path is mostly a sandy trail, so wear comfortable shoes, and no strollers. We took a tour of the lighthouse. We all enjoyed it. Tour guide was very informative. Go slow on the stairs.

Beach, hike out to the point and back, take a tour of the lighthouse, possible sighting of Mama fox and pups.
