Scoot'n Along
I agree with a lot of the other reviews. This is a nice place to stay but the rooms and bathrooms were on the small side. The hotel is across from the street from the state park beach area. Don't even think of crossing the road without going up to the traffic light. Route 31 is 2 lanes on each side and a turn buffer zone in the middle of the road...very busy. Had to put in a request with my reservations for a microwave and refrig (addiional cost each).
Breakfast is always good a Hampton's. Since I am a early riser, I can go down for breakfast while the rest of the family sleeps later. I also use a mobility scooter. Makes it easier for me not to have to go out for one meal. Oh, there's no sidewalk heading for the traffic light (to cross over to the beach). A well worn path in the grass and a few feet to the AAA building. They have sidewalks.
This is our first time visit to Traverse City and it won't be our last. Such a lovely area and family oriented. Lots of people walking, cycling, pushing kids in strollers along the streets.

When selecting our hotel for our stay in Traverse City, Michigan, Mickey and I wanted a good location, a reasonable price, cleanliness, and good service. We are pleased that the Traverse City Hampton Inn exceeded all of our expectations.
I used my AARP card and received a discount. Our room [two queen-sized beds] cost about $90.00 [$89.10] a night, and we stayed for three nights. Thus, we each paid about $145.00 (including tax) for the 3-night stay. In addition to the room, we had hot breakfast included.
Our room was located on the second floor, and from our window, we could see the beach and the Bay[see picture #3].
This hotel is located about 3 miles from downtown Traverse City; an added bonus: it is across the street from the State Park Public Beach and East Grand Traverse Bay!
It is obvious that this Hampton Inn was recently renovated, and, I might add, the renovations were very tastefully done.
Unique Quality: Besides two queen-sized beds with new "cloud nine bedding" Photo #2], our room included a flat screen TV, HBO, Nintendo, and FREE high speed internet connection [which we used daily]. In addition, the room had plenty of closet space, a convenient desk, and an efficient bathroom.
For our free use, the hotel features an indoor pool [see 4th photo], hot tub, fitness center, and a business center. Mickey and used all of these features.
We also received a FREE USA Today paper left outside our door each day.
Although we did not use this service, the hotel offers a complimentary airport shuttle.
If there is one negative [and it is not a serious one], it would be that we always had to turn left out of the parking lot to go to town and to the other locations we had selected. Thus, we had to cross the busy traffic on 31 North. However, there was a center lane, which made it much easier.
We certainly enjoyed our stay at the Traverse City Hampton Inn and would gladly stay there again.

If you have too....
If you have to stay here, do so. If you have other choices, you might look elsewhere. Nice comfortable hotel but could use a good cleaning. It's best asset is that it's located across from the State Beach. Breakfast is nice as well, but you can do better in the area.
