We actually ended up at the Park during a horrendous snowstorm in March one year. It was terrifying and there was no way we would make the 25 mile journey west to Glen Lake. It would be a night in the ditch.
I staggered into the hotel and they welcomed me warmly but warily. My hands were shaking in fear and relief.
The kids had a blast - we all felt like we'd accomplished a great thing.
Oh, yes. This was to be about the hotel.
Lovely - Comfortable, clean rooms; Pool, restaurants, Piano Bar, Top of the Park bar with great views (NOT during a Blizzard)
Unique Quality: It is right downtown - a block from everything.
Directions: From Grandview Parkway, turn onto Park and it's right in front of you.
I've never stayed here...just passing on information from the locals.
The Park Place is an older "high rise" (as high rises go in TVC, maybe 10 floors or so) in the central part of town. Once a "Grander Lady", locals say that the Park Place has faded a bit in her glory, but is still a convenient and comfortable place to stay when you're in TVC on business.
So, as they say, just passing on the information to you, my VT brethren.
Unique Quality: Excellent central location, and perhaps more "hotel" amenities than most other places in downtown TVC.. Concierge, bell caps, etc.
As I traveled from the airport and got closer to downtown, I realized that I could easily stay in this town for weeks meeting people and shopping. Downtown is covered in holiday lights and is bustling with fun and good cheer. I saw snow piles in the parking lots and I can only imagine that the locals love their winters.
Unique Quality: The room was OUTSTANDING!!!! I received the AAA price and was extremely pleased with the soft, luxurious bed. Wired and wireless internet throughout the hotel and very close to downtown.
Directions: Downtown
