"Area map!"
"Fort Detroit !"
One place that the kids would enjoy going to was Fort Detroit which was a petting zoo & gift shop. They have all kinds of animals that would come up to you & eat right out of your hand. Actually, they were almost to tame that when you would go into the fenced area with your handful of alfalfa pellets the deer would run up to you full gallop as it appeared that they would try to be the first one there to feed and would try & eat it all themselves (they didn't like to share with one another). You actually had to be careful with smaller kids because of the deer being aggresive.
The best way to do it with younger kids was to hold them up so that they wouldn't be to frightened when the deer come up to get fed.
"Fishing!"
The cabins that we would stay at for quit a few years in a row were right on the lake & all had their own docks. You would sit out on the dock with a small fishing rod & be able to pull up a sunfish every time you would put the rod in the water. The kids would have a great time catching these small fish & throwing them back in. My son Michael would sit on the dock for hours pulling up fish.
