Small comfortable cabins with enough modern amenities to give you enough free time to enjoy yourself. Motorboats for rent, perfect for fishing, which is what the resort is based on. Theme: OtherComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Near Grand Rapids (Bovey) in the Iron Range

Sorry that I cannot recommend a good place to stay. We always stay with relatives when we are in Minnesota... We try not to stay long enough to impose on them though. Theme: Other

by pipsqueak The cabins are usually rented on a weekly basis during the summer. The website has pricing information.
The lodge is on a lake that is in the middle of the Chippewa National Forest. Less than 5% of the shoreline of the lake is developed. It is a great place to spend a summer week. There is great fishing in nearby lake Winnibigoshish and there are a lot of activities for the kids, including swimming and a giant water trampoline. by inthegarden This is a Victorian B&B very nicely decorated. There are antique fireplaces in each room which makes it very cozy on a snowy, Minnesota winter night. In the summer there is a quiet screened in front porch to enjoy warm summer nights mosquito free. If you stay in the Butternut Suite (0ne of the nicest rooms), bring pennies (no, not dimes, quarters of dollors) for the penny game. Bring your story for the rooms journels and read some of the romantic and touching stories left by others. The innkeepers are friendly but allow you privacy when you want it. This B&B is within walking distance of the shops in town and the Mississippi River. Theme: Bed and BreakfastComparison: about averageDirections: 818 W. Third St. in Redwing, Mn. This place wasn't fancy but we really liked it. It 's a lodge and it had a Mom and Pop feel about it. It sits along Lake Superior. You can hire canoes or go hiking on the grounds. It wasn't fancy but it was cozy and clean. Warning though: If you are an animal lover, you may not like the deer heads, moose heads, wolf heads, etc., which make up the decor. Service was good.
They had a wood chuck who liked to make occasional appearances.

Staff clearly trained to provide good service and engage with guests. 30 minutes from the airport and you are in the middle of the prairie.
Fabulous walking trails!!! Encounter a fawn and other nature just walking.

Friendly managers, clean rooms, spacious & practical room layout with kitchenette, living & 2 bedrooms. Only one concern, only one bathroom for 4 pax. Has a clean but not big swmming pool, just nice for a dip for our 2 girls. Car park is just beside the unit, convenient. Pretty close (abt 5 minutes walk) to shopping malls, petrol kiosks, restaurants, groceries. Wal-mart & many more restaurants & shops (about 10 mins walk away). Parks are not too far away too. Highly recommend to anybody. Quiet & peaceful place. Theme: HotelPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Eden PrairieDirections: Eden Prairie

We stayed in one of the small cabins which were built in the 1930's. This was very reasonably priced, clean and the owners were very friendly people, but the room was small, especially the bathroom. There was no phone in the room and our cell phone did not work here. Theme: OtherComparison: least expensiveAddress: Filmore Avenue in Lanesboro
