Lake Ripley

by Stephen-KarenConn

On the southern end of Litchfield lies beautiful Lake Ripley. It is encircled by a four-mile-long paved trail which is popular with walkers, joggers, bikers and in-line skaters.

The 558 acre lake, with a maximum depth of 18 feet, provides multiple recreational opportunities (swimming, boating, fishing, ice skating, etc.) for both local residents as well as visitors.

Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota

by Stephen-KarenConn

Litchfield is the county seat for Meeker County in south central Minnesota. It is one of the larger towns in what was originally a series of "whistle stops" built along a railway extending westward from Minneapolis in the 19th century. Today U.S. highway 12 follows the rail route, which is still active.

Located just 60 miles west of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, today Litchfield is a thriving small town of about 6,500 residents. Litchfield's historic downtown will take you back in time with a number of antique and coffee shops to visit. On the south side of Litchfield lies beautiful Lake Ripley.
