Excellent value
I stayed here most of the time when I came over for work purposes. It was rather new and the rooms were large and comfy, with sofas and work table. While never bothering on the luxuries, the rooms are extremely functional. There is a self-service laundry, a excellent doughnut buffet and a shortwalk to a very good restaurant Baker's Square (there are also other restaurants within walking distance). There are also free shuttle to downtown although I never used that. The best thing is the price which is very reasonable (I used to pay ~40-50USD per night). I stayed at Radison University Hotel before and Days Inn beat the Radison hands down, based on value, practicality and friendliness!

Decent Hotel next to U of M
This hotel had decent rooms although a bit old. It also was a bit noisy as many college students seemed to be renteing suites for parties. However all in all not bad and very reasonable price for the location.

Good accomadations not alot of frills
I have stayed here several times when I have had to make trips to the twin cities for hospital visits. This hotel does not have a pool or a game room but if you need to go to any of the area hospitals they run a free shuttle every half hour except during rush hour. They will also take you to University of Minnesota places with in 3 miles. There are 4 major hospitals including the Shrine Childrens hosipial with in the area. Many rooms have dorm size refrigerators, some have small microwaves and all have small coffee makers. The bathrooms are very small but the rooms are good sized. They have a special rate for hospital visits but you must tell they which hospital. They have a breakfast room with Coffee, Juice, Doughnuts, and cereal in the mornings on the second floor.
They have wireless internet access but you must use a credit card to use it.
