There are lodging every where in MN. You shouldn't have any troubles trying to find some where to stay. I would probably say to goto the downtown hotels or near the mega mall if you want to stay in the city.
The place where we stayed at was pretty spendy for the weekend. I would say about $500 dollars. In the city you can stay anywhere in any price range!

This picture was taken at GooseBerry Falls State Park.

I always stay with family since I was born here and still have plenty of relatives in the Twin Cities. For those of you who don't have this luxury, don't worry. Minneapolis has all the major hotel chains and you can jump on the Internet and easily book a hotel room.

For a good cheaper hotel a would recommend the Holiday Inn Express - St. Paul. I've often liked Holiday Inn Express hotels because they're cheap, clean, comfortable and offer free breakfast. The hotel has 107 rooms with an indoor pool and whirlpool. It is conected to the historic Bandana Square shopping complex by a skyway.

The hotel is located in the restored railroad shops of St. Paul's 'Empire Builder' tycoon, James J. Hill—the entire complex is on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel doesn't have its own restaurant, but next door (and connected by skyway) is Bandana Square, with a few lunch places and the superlative Dakota Bar and Grill.

Country Inn & Suites in Bloomington
I paid $99 for one night & they parked my vehicle for three weeks, no charge & gave me a shuttle ride to & from the airport.

The closest hotel to the Mall of America & very close to the Airport. They have a really good park & fly program. Nice continetal breakfast, TGIF's is attached to this property. Also nice pool area.

As usual any motel near the airport is pricey. If you pick one in EAgan (a So. suburb of St. Paul and close to the airport) and the prices go down a bit. The same for getting into Eden Prairie. If you book a motel in Mtka or Plymouth ( safe W & NW suburbs), you'll drive via I-494 and it will take you 30-40 minutes in non rush hour.
$60-90 for things like Holiday Express, Americinn.
If you ask for a Great Rate at the Holiday Inn, you get the cheapest rate available- unless you have some other discount connection.

Fairfield Inn: Fairfield Inn

I have not stayed at this particular Fairfield Inn but I have stayed at others throughout the country. They are very nice, simple hotels with a free continental breakfast. This chain is owned by the Marriot.
