Cows everywhere!
by shrimp56
When I was attending Carleton there was a sign on the edge of Northfield that said "Cows, Colleges & Contentment" -- it disappeared over the years, but has been reinstalled I am told. This beaming bovine is at the restaurant "The Contented Cow" [please see the restaurant tips.]
Twigonometry II
by shrimp56
Here you can see the curving arches of 'Twigonometry' spreading its arches and secret nooks over one end of the campus main 'square' known as 'The Bald Spot'.
.
In my day the Bald Spot was used for campus-wide functions. In the winter it was flooded to form a large ice skating area, half of which was for the hockey team. I made my debut as a performing skater [ha!] in the Winter Carnival production of 'All-ice in Wonderland' my senior year. No contracts were offered:)
The Office

"The Library"
These law books contain all the case law in Minnesota that ever was. But really now days they are just for show. I don't particularly enjoy research and when I am forced into a research project, I find my caselaw online not in the dusty old books.
"My Mess"
I'm sure that many days it appears that I'm spending my time goofing around on VT. While I'm in the office I usually am tuned into VT and run it in the background, but I actually do take phone calls and move these files around from pile to pile.
"The Old Man"
Any small-town law office needs to have the grumpy old senior partner. Ours is no exception.....but truthfully, John is very nice and only his partners would ever call him grumpy.
"The Day the Eagle Flew By"
My new office window overlooks the Cannon River. It is home to several eagles. Some days they soar past every fifteen minutes or so--looking for a carp lunch.
