Classy dining in resort country!

When we visited last year (July 2006) the restaurant hadn't been open terribly long, but that didn't hinder us from having a wonderful supper! Probably the most entertainment was watching the golfers maneuvering around the pond which we had a great view as the reataurant had large picture windows overlooking the course. The food is upscale but not at an excessive price. The staff were courteous and attentive without "hovering". I, of course had the walleye, which is always my benchmark for Minnesota restaurants. It was cooked to perfection, and their home-made tartar sauce is quite delightful, as they had some other subtle flavorings in it besides the usual pickle, onion, mayo routine. Others in our group had scallops, and seafood Alfredo penne pasta. We were all quite happy! I suspect their breakfast and lunch selections are also good.

Hidden Golf Gem (Golf Digest ****)

Only 2 years old, but you wouldn't know it by all the mature Oaks and the Pines which are more than you may want. Thumper Pond was cut out of a tree farm and throw some water and hills in and you have a great challenge.

The best feature of this course is the fact that is in an area that is not saturated with tourists. In fact a late June Saturday, we had no tee times and were able to get 2 foursome on back to back during the mid-morning. The cost is unreal as well. Can you believe Golf Digest rated this course 4 stars and yet it is still $30/per person with cart to golf 18. Of course this is through a stay package with our resort (http://YourResort.com) They have nice rental clubs, but we will bring our own next time.
