Rochester is a VERY cosmopolitan city for its size. Most of the Christian denominations are represented as well as Jewish and Muslim comunities. Throughout the year many ethnic festivals are held as well as a very midwestern County Fair (Olmsted) with farm animal/ 4H arts crafts conservation and the carnival midway. Rochesterfest is held in the middle of June and is a Block Party type event weeklong in downtown. The biggest mistake people coming to Rochester make is NOT ASKING almost anyone on the street for information they want. Rochester is a friendly town and used to and appreciative of visitors to theMayo Clinic and other area attractions.

Interpreters are avaiable at the clinic for non English speaking visitors.

Rochester, Minnesota, USA. Consistently rated as America's #1 all around city. I don't know why! It IS very safe and clean, and the parks are great, but with the world famous Mayo Clinic and IBM here, politics are everything. Not a lot to do for young adults, but nevertheless a very interesting town!
