FLOOD BAY MOTEL: A CLEAN COZY ROOM AT A FAIR PRICE

Although a lot of the little "Mom and Pop"
motels are rapidly being replaced with overpriced chains, the north shore still has quite a few very pleasant places to stay without paying $140 a night. I happened to catch the last room for the night at FLOOD BAY on my last trip. It is directly across from a scenic overlook on Lake Superior and is a throwback to the "good old days" of car travel.

For the traveler/couple who merely needs a hot shower and a cozy room with a comfortable bed, this is the ideal place for a night or two.

The room was small but cozy and charming with a full bathroom, very comfortable bed, and a TV. PERFECT for a road-weary traveler such as myself.

If you simply MUST have CABLE TV with 9 HBO CHANNELS, A PHONE, ROOM SERVICE....etc...then go ahead and spend
exhorbitant amounts of money elsewhere.
ME? I much prefer the quiet charm of a little room like those in the FLOOD BAY MOTEL.

Don and Judy Lauder (owners) were nice as could be, and the rates were VERY reasonable for what I wanted. I WILL stay there again on the next trip.
