There is also lodging available at resorts by the main areas of the park and at Kettle Falls on the Kabetogama Peninsula. The Kettle Falls Hotel was built around 191o, and is listed on the National register of Historic Places. Lodging is seasonal except near Rainy Lake. I opted to stay at a decent Days Inn in International Falls which is only 12 miles from Rainy Lake.
There are primitive camping areas throughout the park. Obtain a map of these areas from one of the visitors Centers. There are also campgrounds at nearby state forests and through private resorts. I did not camp here; just wanted to let you know what is available.
