Terrible, NOT worth the price!

I should have known it was a bad sign when I noticed they didn't even have HBO in their channel selection - even the roach motels that charge by the hour have HBO!
The door to the bathroom are sliders that leave a 1 inch gap facing the door to the room. So if you feel your bathroom time is private time, you better hope no one has to open the door to the room otherwise anyone outside can take a quick peak.
The beds were hard and I woke up with a stiff back and neck.
Then to top off my morning we go down stairs to the lobby only to find breakfast isn't free - they charge $12.95 for the "buffet" that consists of 4 hot pans and some cereal. I commented that for the price for the night the least we should get is free breakfast, they laughed and I had to tell them I was serious. I went to the front desk to see if I could cancel my 2nd night without penalty and they said it's too late I can't. We got one of the pricier rooms they offer at $179 a night and at this point we're going to have to chalk it up to an expensive lesson in traveling. Four Points was a major disappointment all the way around. At least I got to use their "free" internet that costs .01 cent a day to write this review.

Biloxi Dancing

by nelson_c

We are going to Biloxi for our anniversary and would like suggestions on a place to take in some dancing. We would prefer some place with a live band, but it is not necessary. Any swing or tango clubs in the area that possibly offer lessons? We will be there for easter weekend. Please reply to nelson_c@bellsouth.net

If you're staying at any of the casinos they should be able to set something up for you I know there are at least two places on the coast that offer lessons but I'm unsure of the days and times. If the casino are unable to help try googling the gulg coast.

Travel Tips for Biloxi

Visit Beauvoir

by Virtuous_Tourist

Beauvoir is the retirement estate of Confederate President Jefferson Davis in Biloxi, Mississippi. Developed by planter-entrepreneur James Brown, the gulfside estate grew to encompass approximately 500 acres and was dominated by an imposing Louisiana raised cottage-style residence, constructed 1848-1851.

FORETICH HOUSE

by LoriPori

Constructed in 1890, this woodframe building is an excellent example of the vernacular architecture of Biloxi in the late 19th century. One of the most common house types found among Biloxi's early residential architecture, the simplicity of its style and the relative lack of ornamentation of the FORETICH HOUSE reflect the attitude and values of the working and middle class culture during this period.
The house was given to the City in 1986 and was then relocatedfrom Delauney Street to the Town Green to be part of the Biloxi Visitors Center.

Hurricanes

by Ewingjr98

The Mississippi Gulf Coast, despite being only about 75 miles east-to-west, is a frequent target of some of the nation's deadliest hurricanes. Most famous are Camille in 1969 and of course Katrina in 2005, but major hurricanes also struck in 1722, 1893, 1915, and 1947. Camille had 200 mile per hour winds and a 25 foot storm surge which eliminated most buildings within 1/2 mile of the ocean and killed about 255 people. Katrina was only a category 4 hurricane with 145 mph winds when it struck, but it was a much larger hurricane affecting a greater portion of the Gulf Coast. Furthermore, Katrina's storm surge was probably a little less than Camille's, but it hit more vulnerable areas such as New Orleans' levees, causing breaks, massive flooding, and many more deaths.

According to a USA Today report, Biloxi has a 10% chance of a hurricane striking within 75 miles on any given year, which makes it one of the most likely places in the country to take a hurricane hit.

Threw this one in of the Beau rivage just in case you were not impressed with the earlier view. There's a casino with this many stories across the back bay from this one called Imperial Palace. We have eleven casinos in all in the Biloxi area. Some have accompanying golf courses.

FISHERMAN'S COTTAGE

by LoriPori

Lameuse Street was the main thoroughfare during the antebellum period, when most visitors arrived in Biloxi by water.
FISHERMAN'S COTTAGE (c.1905) is a Creole cottage-type structure, typical of those built by Biloxi's fishermen around the turn-of-the-century. It has some of the most decorative woodwork of the city's historic structures.
