More about Historic Oak Hill Inn
A friend and I stayed at the Historic Oak Hill Inn. We loved Natchez, and a big part of our great experience was because we stayed the night at such a wonderful place! When check-in involves amazing cookies, you know you are off to a wonderful stay. Doug helped us with our bags and pointed us in the direction of good food and local attractions. We stayed in the upstairs room that had two beds that were very comfortable. There is a stocked refrigerator for guests, more cookies, and a wonderful breakfast. The french toast souffle was amazing!
This property has been lovingly restored and furnished and is super place to spend a night!
Best B&B Ever
Best B&B Ever
My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at Oak Hill Inn on the occasion of his birthday. What a pleasure. We have stayed at B&B's from Cape Cod to St. Augustine, and Oak Hill Inn proved to be spectacular compared to any other. The host's Don & Doug were wonderful and made their guests feel right at home. From the iced tea and the chocolate-chip cookies upon arrival to the fabulous "down home breakfast" in the morning you felt right at home. The grounds were gorgeous and well kept. The Inn itself is period mid 1800's and unlike other B&B's we have stayed in felt more "homey" than museum like. We will definetly return to this jewel in historic Natchez.
We stayed at Oak Hill recently and had an amazing time there. The house is absolutely gorgeous and the owners couldn't be more welcoming. The breakfast was wonderful and they also provide freshly baked cookies and complimentary soft drinks and water. You feel like you are staying in a musem, but it's somehow inviting and comfortable at the same time. We celebrated a special occasion there and the owners went above and beyond to cater to our requests (bringing in flowers, champagne, etc. prior to our arrival). I highly recommend Oak Hill to anyone who is visiting Natchez.
Best bed-and-breakfast in Natchez!
I would be very surprised to hear that there is a better bed-and- breakfast in Natchez! Historic Oak Hill Inn's proprietors, Doug and Don, are originally from New Jersey, but they truly understand Southern hospitality. They are very welcoming and friendly, but not intrusive in the slightest. They make you feel like their house is your house! Doug is happy to make any reservations you might need as well as tell you all about Natchez and the historic houses.
Oak Hill Inn is a beautiful house, with lovely furnishings. Doug will give you a tour. We stayed in the downstairs suite, which is comfortable and very well-appointed. There is a small flat-screen t.v. with satellite, writing desk, chest-of-drawers, reading chair and a gorgeous (very comfortable) bed. There are even padded hangers in the closet! The bathroom is beautiful (granite shower!), and there is a small refrigerator in a closet in the room containing free soft drinks and water. Very considerate!
And what can I say about their breakfasts?!?! LOTS of really good food! I doubt that you'd get a nicer breakfast anywhere. Doug has a different menu for every day of the week. Very yummy!
In essence: you won't be sorry if you stay at Historic Oak Hill Inn. We would go back in a heartbeat, and can hardly wait until we have another opportunity to do so!
Best B&B in Natchez
This is the best B&B we have stayed in recently, and we found it through Tripadivsor. The room was comfortable and very clean. We were greeted with cookies fresh from the oven on arrival, and had a delicious breakfast each morning, served in the formal dining room on antique china.
The owners could not have been more welcoming or helpful about local sights. They were as knowledgeable about restaurants as they were about local history. Guests truly were made to feel at home in the historic house, which is within easy walking distance of downtown Natchez.
Great location and beautiful gardens
Located within walking distance of many of the attractions in Natchez, it is about a five-minute walk from Stanton Hall and ten minutes from King's Tavern. A very friendly staff offered us a complementary glass of wine and a house tour on arrival. The house has a pool, extensive gardens and off street parking. The southern breakfast the next morning was excellent – especially the homemade biscuits.
Historic Oak Hill Inn
The Oak Hill Inn was a wonderful experience of
The owners Doug Mauro and Don McGlynn have restored the Inn to magnificant glory. The music room was a pure delight along with a great library room.
We stayed in the Myrtle Room upstairs and enjoyed the comfortable queen size bed with a private bath.
Our host, Doug on our arrival had lemonade and homemade cookies waiting for us He also gave us a tour of his home and the history that went with it.
We stayed two nights. Both mornings we had amazing breakfasts served on period china. Before breakfast both coffee and tea awaited us as we emerged from our room.
If planning a visit to Natchez, MS we highly recommend The Oak Hill Inn.

Don't expect the come-hug-my-neck-hows's-ya-mama-n-them talk-your-ear-off southern greeting from this Yankee.
Do expect a genuinely kind innkeeper that works to make every detail perfect - carry your bags, fresh flowers in the room and breakfast table, breakfast served on antique porcelain, impeccably clean rooms. Breakfast is delicious and his explanation is basic - he doesn't wear you out describing each detail of the food so you'll know how much trouble it was. His food and guest service speak for themselves! If you want privacy you'll get it but we so enjoyed our morning visits with Doug. He knows more about Natchez than some of our tourguides who have grown up there. His home (Oak Hill) is a step back in time and contains his dear family heirlooms but he doesn't rope off these gorgeous items, he made us feel very at home and told us the stories behind everything.
If you don't mind a schedule on your vacation (check-in between 3 and 5, breakfast at 8:30) you'll find this place a good value that is guaranteed to enhance your Natchez vacation - his enthusiasm will spread quickly to you.
It's very clear why this B&B is rated #1! I researched Natchez B&Bs on TripAdvisor and selected Oak Hill. The stay exceeded my expectations with the wonderful homemade breakfast and gracious hospitality. We will return!!!
Delightful Natchez B&B
We had a wonderful experience -- great hospitality, food and ambiance-- at this beautifully-restored, historic bed and breakfast in Natchez. Beginning with the home-baked chocolate chip cookies waiting for us when we arrived, and ending with a sumptuous breakfast (great French toast) and guided tour, it was a delight. We have stayed at several B&B's over the years in Natchez, and this is among the best, in value and quality.
The downstairs Beatty Suite (where we stayed) was luxurious and quiet; fresh camellias from the garden, subtle lighting, nice size bathroom with rainfall shower, small refrigerator with water and soft drinks were welcome touches.
Easily accessible to downtown, and (in the opposite direction, down Homochitto Street) to the wonderful Castle Restaurant only a few blocks away at Dunleith.
