Hotel Mark Twain: Classic Central Location
Central to the skyline of Hannibal is the Hotel Mark Twain. I didn't have a chance to walk into lobby and learn more, but on-line I found these two contrasting reviews--the first is the only Yahoo! hotel review:
Great location, right downtown. Very good value. Worst thing was looking for food and drink @ 10pm check in. Restaurant across the street closes early, and you have to drive for food and drink. Very nice pool tho, very friendly employees. Overall, very nice place for a very nice price.
The other notes come from a USA Today article describing Hannibal:
The Hotel Mark Twain opened in 1905. Empty for years, it's now senior housing. His boyhood home became a museum in 1912.
Both descriptions warrant a stop by. There are plenty of motor lodges in the area, but none so well located.

The Gilded Age B&B: A budding B&B
This is a classic home revamped into a bed and breakfast. Its still in the process of being rejuvenated by its new owners, but the price is right. You're not going to find second rate accomodations here, but if you are into extravagent bathroom fixtures or crystal chandeliers, you might need to wait a few years before you visit here. Some of the rooms are thoroughly finished, some are still in progress. A room for two was $60 and tax.
Unique Quality: You won't find anything dirty here, and breakfast is spectacular, especially the biscuits and gravy. The 12 foot ceilings are a killer plus.
