The Resort at Port Arrowhead: Very family oriented
we called the hotel one day in advance, lucky for us they had a cancelation that day, because almost everyone was booked 4th of july weekend.
This would be a great hotel if you were a family, it was okay for a couple of single girls looking to have a good time on the lake.
This place has two outdoor pools and one indoor pool. They have acitivites all day by the pool including a dj and lots of contests. At night they show a movie by the pool. They also have shuffle board and one night they had murder mystery night.
The rooms come with complimentary breakfast buffet. You can sit outside and eat with a great view of the lake. I never ate here any other time besides breakfast so i am not sure how good the food is. The restaurant staff however were a bit disorganized so patience is needed.
The resort also has a boat dock.

MCB Lake Properties: Stay In an Awesome Condo
Our stay at Parkview Bay was great. We stayed in a 2-bedroom condo unit with some friends and loved it. We had a balcony overlooking the water. The condos had 3 pools we could use on the complex. We had a BBQ grill right on our balcony and cooked out steaks. Location was great, not too far from the Factory Outlet Mall. Was so much nicer than staying in a hotel!
Don't stay at a hotel, stay at a condo! This place is awesome. They come complete with full kitchens, living rooms, and balconies. You can rent either a 2-or 3-bedroom unit that you can fit your whole family in or share with one or two other couples. There are 3 pools on location and the facility is right on the lake and has a dock. Not sure if dock rental comes with the room or not, I didn't inquire since I don't have a boat. In season rates are $175.00/night for 2 bdrm and $230.00/night for 3 bdrm.

The Lodge of the Four Seasons: The Lodge of the Four Seasons
I'll be staying at the lodge for New Year's Eve this year. The Lodge of the Four Seasons looks like a great place to stay. They have a couple restaurants a couple bars and even have a spa. It's a resort type atmosphere right on the lake that includes golfing, boating, and shopping.
There are 350 guest rooms and most have balconies. Check out their website for a full description of the rooms.
They have a huge party every New Year's Eve. This year's festivities include a Speakeasy theme from the 20's and 30's prohibition era. Staff will be dressed in gangster and flapper costumes.
The party includes a dinner of Waldorf salad, Beef Tenderloin Forestier, leg of lamb with mint sauce, Lobster Thermador, Cherries Jubilee, and Bananas Foster. They will have a live band "The Roland Allen Orchestra" who will play everything from 20's era music up to contemporary tunes. Each guest receives two free drink tickets, champagne toast at midnight along with balloon drop. There will also be Old Time Photos taken and prizes for best costumes and best dancers.
