Dull lodgings but a great rate
On a recent trip through the St. Louis area I spent two nights here at the Clayton Radisson. It wasn't my first choice for location - but I got a great rate ($45 a night) through Priceline.
Downtown Clayton is a business center, but in my opinion it's terribly dull. And I think it's actually gotten duller in recent years. When a student at Wash U. years and years ago, there used to be a few quaint shops and cafes in Clayton. They seem to have been priced out or bought out. The good book store that was here is gone, and the Shady Oak Cinema is closed. Oh well. The good thing about staying here is that access is relatively easy to most other parts of the St. Louis Metro area. In particular, the Delmar Loop is only a few minutes away, and the Central West End a little bit beyond that. Just don't come here expecting to find much of interest in Clayton.
