The Gateway Arch is a very famous landmark. Its museum is run by the National Park Service and is free to the public. From the museum you can take a tram up to the top. Be prepared: the tram cars are VERY crowded! Once you get to the top, you have very nice views over the city and the Mississippi River. This probably won't apply to most people on this board, but it has to be said. St. Louis is home to the Cardinals baseball team, the arch-enemies of my team, the Chicago Cubs. So my favorite activity in St. Louis was Cardinal-bashing ;-)

Busch Stadium

There are many people who tour America in search of its most famous sports venues. Some of these people would enjoy seeing some of the most traditional ballparks and historic ballparks in the nation. Busch Stadium will one day be replaced by a brand new sports arena. In the meantime, it is an excellent place to watch a Cardinals baseball game. I have fond memories of watching the team play here. You can see the arch towering just outside of the stadium. Going up the arch will also give you a great look at the stadium.
If you would like to watch a game, I recommend getting tickets as soon as you know the date since St. Louis supports their team very well and often the games sell out.
