The Chance

"Opportunity"
I was given an outstanding opportunity to visit St. Louis. It was an extremely rare cahnce and I was all for it except for the daunting long journey from Malaysia. It took me almost 24 hours to get there inclusive the transit and whatever.
When I was there it was the transition from Winter to Summer or something like that, but it was extremely windy as it was tornado season. For all that I can gather from the news, the states all around Missouri were facing strong winds and tornado.
My point of entry into the US was Chicago and from there it was a domestic flight to St Louis. Was extremely tired but then rejuvenated as I reached St Louis. Another thing about the airport in the US, there is not enough smoking room and another problem is no one seems to have a lighter as it has been taken away for security.
"Hotel Drury Inn, Union Station"
Again had the chance to stay at an old hotel. It was great as the place has history and great design. The welcome receive from the staff was great but it would be nice if they have more experienced staff at the counter during the check in.
The rooms were extremely big and spacious. The bed was just nice and before long I was on my on trip to nowhere. The rooms are A OK and the bathroom was nicely design with all the ammenities. I must say it was one of the nicest place that I have been to.
"Union Station"
The nearest place to hang around near the hotel was the Union Station Mall. Not much of a place but there is the food court on the top floor. There is a Bangladeshi who is running this Mexican Food Outlet as such had my taste of Halal food from him....Thank you.
Also had a chance to meet another muslim brother from Iraq who was selling sunglsses at the lower level. He just got his US citizenship last two months after being in the US for 9 years. Wish him all the best

Need hotel near Busch Stadium in St Louis
by kboodle
I will be attending a convention in St Louis. Much of activities are located at Busch Stadium. Can you give me the names of some moderately priced hotel/motels? Preferably ones with an airport shuttle.
Many thanks,
Kboodle

I haven't been to any games this season, so this information will need to be verified with the specific hotels. In the past, the Millenium Hotel & the Radisson Hotel-Downtown, have had airport shuttles. You can visit www3.lambert-stl.org/index/ground.html, for other ground transport options, and www.metrostlouis.org, specifically for public bus and light rail options. Gary

Since I live here I do not know the prices of the rooms at local hotels. I can list some of the hotels near the ball park. Each of the hotels below are within walking distance or less than one metro stop from Busch. There is a Metro station at Lambert Airport. If the hotel does not offer a shuttle you can catch the Metro at the airport and be less than three blocks from your hotel.
