State Fair

The State Fair is held here every August. If you have a fond attraction to farm animals or farm equipment, this is an absolute must see. :)
There are quite a few rides and they are trying to make it a little less about faming and a little more well-rounded.
They normally have some big music stars to come perform too.

"Sedalia"

Sedalia, MO. is a medium size town of about 35,000. It's located in West Central Missouri and has a long rich history. It is also the host of the Missouri State Fair which is held every year from mid to late August. It's history dates back to the cattle drives when Sedalia was a main rail head for which it was famous. The old television program "Raw Hide" where Clint Eastwood started his career always mentioned "The Sedalia Trail".
Speaking of trails the MKT trail, hikeing or bikeing trail, extends for about 200 miles. You can hike or bike from Clinton, MO. to Columbia, MO. You can get on the MKT trail here in Sedalia and go in either direction East or West. This trail goes through some very pretty country side.
The State Fair holds a Pow-Wow once a year and a seperate Black powder Buckskin festival. They also have a Blue Grass festival once a year at the Fair grounds.
Otterville a small town about 10 miles East of Sedalia is where Jessie James and his gang used to jump off a bluff on to passing trains in order to rob them. There is a land mark there telling the whole story.
Whiteman Air Force Base the home of the B2- Stelth Bomber is just about 20 miles West of Sedalia. Usually around the middle of June they have an air show and open house.
Also every year down town at the Scott Joplyn Park they have the Scott Joplyn festival.
There are several land marks to visit such as the Bothwell Lodge. It's located just North of Sedalia on 65 highway, the Scott Joplyn Park, the MKT rail road station and the Bothwell Hotel.
There are plenty of hotels & motels to stay in. if you're hungry you've come to the right spot because ther are plenty of resturants here and one is bound to suit everyone.
Fishing and water fun is just a few miles to the South of Sedalia. Truman resivour is a very good spot to relax and do some fishing. There are beaches and picnic areas plentiful.
So come on visit Sedalia!
