You should know that in Springfield you will encounter men (and women and children) with mullets, and lots of stock car racing fans. One fun thing to do in Springfield is look for Dale Earnhart tributes on the back of vehicles. I saw one last week outside my apartment that was a 3 with a halo & wings. If I see it again, I'll try to get a picture of it to share with you, cuz it was classic.
The zoo also has a couple of Indian elephants, and three giraffes, also not part of the petting zoo. As you'll find at other zoos, these tremendous creatures are free to come and go from the shade of their quarters to avoid the summer heat, but visitors are allowed to view them either in the compound or from inside their huts. As situated at Dickerson Park, the habitats and neighboring walks are not particularly suitable for photographing these large mammals.
I love this place!!! they have a great ambiance and great food. even though you pay a little more it is worth the price. According to 417 magazine it was voted Best of the Best: money no object in the 2005 poll. They were also voted Best seafood, Best service, Best wine selection, best place to go for a date, and has the best server and best bartender. With all those votes you cannont go wrong!!
they also have a great martini bar upstairs The filet is great and the sea bass entree is wonderful. of course great wine and martini selection.
Great Bbq place that is a little overpriced for a burger but occasionally worth it. The burgers are great!!
I am not really into all you can eat specials because they are not worth it for me, but for those of you who can eat that much Mondays they have all you can eat brisket and all you can eat ribs on tuesdays. The cheeseburgers yummy
Springfield's former courthouse now serves for its city hall, the post office, and the History Museum for Springfield-Greene County. Built in 1894 in the Romanesque style, this classic building fronts the intersection of Boonville and Chestnut, giving it a prominent position to go with its classic appearance.
