Great Place to Stay in Yellowstone

by TripAdvisor Member mrsmills

Great place to stay in the north Yellowstone area, Gardiner itself is a far nicer town than it may initially appear and the Inn is a great base for seeing the north of the park. Facilities are very good, the rooms are spacious, well appointed and maintained and welcoming, the lighting could be improved, our room did not get a lot of day light. The innkeepers are friendly and helpful, although perhaps a little over-bearing at times for us. The extras such as wi-fi and breakfast, the hot tub, etc. really make it. If you find the accommodations in the park a little stuffy and small, this is a refreshing alternative. We have stayed at the Inn twice and would return again.

A Perfect Home-Base for Visiting Yellowstone

by TripAdvisor Member Rissalex

Our family of six (two adults and four teenagers) spent three wonderful nights at this lovely bed & breakfast during our visit to the Yellowstone/Grand Teton region. The Inn is very close to the north entrance to Yellowstone, and the town has everything a visitor might need. The Inn itself is lovely with a beautiful view and the suite which the owner suggested we book was so much more than adequate. Everything was extremely clean, bright, tastefully decorated and comfortable. After long days in the park, it really felt like we came "home" in the evening. Hard to believe, but we ate in every night, using the kitchen and outdoor grill. I cannot thank Greg enough for his advice on touring the park and setting us up with a local horseback riding ranch that took us all on our first ride through the most beautiful national forest. I highly recommend this property. Thank you Greg and Sabina. We wish you many years of continued success and happiness in your lovely Inn.

Would definitely stay there again! Great place!

We stayed 2 nights in this nice little Inn and we felt very comfortable. It is very different to any typical chain hotel, with lots of personal touches and the owners engaged in giving helpful advise on dining, hiking and other tips. Our room (#9 Riverview) had spectacular views. Everything was sparkling clean and we felt right at home. Breakfast was very good. The Park's North entrance is very close and Gardiner is a cute little town. After an exciting day in Yellowstone we enjoyed the hot tub a lot!
If we ever come back in this area we will definitely stay here again.
Thank you Greg and Sabina!

If you are staying in Gardiner

stayed for 4 days at YBI. owners VERY NICE room clean but little details were lacking. lots of signs and warnings.... don't do this or you'll be charged etc... I understand why the signs were up, but on vacation, i find it off putting and makes things less homey. size of my room was good. location beautiful and the hottub although not the cleanest i've seen was ok -- water had a lot of bugs in it. i wouldn't have minded skimming it as you can't control bugs, but there was nothing available for me to do so.

Also the office is not manned. you have to contact owners on intercom and although they are helpful and quick to respond, i felt like i was interupting their time, and i don't like that feeling.. don't get me wrong THEY DON"T MIND AT ALL, they are very nice and very helpful with everything but i feel uncomfortable "summoning' someone to give me info or help. i know i am picky and i would stay here again given what i saw in town for accomodations ....

This place is not for wildlife viewing

by TripAdvisor Member amitps

We were in this B&B last month and we wanted to see a lot of wildlife. I had called this place and was told there is a lot of wildlife but when we reached, you could not even see an Elk in the area.

If you want to go to the park - it is a good 1 hr drive to Lamar and Hayden valley where the action is.

So, if you plan to see wildlife this is not the place to stay.

I would recommend the Roosevelt Lodge inside the park.

Excellent little inn

by TripAdvisor Member empty_nesters07

We just stayed at YBI for 4 nights and really enjoyed the property. Our room, Ridden High, was so comfortable, squeaky clean and had 2 large closets. It was just a 5 mile ride to town, and to the Yellowstone entrance. The view of the "Devils Slide" and surrounding mountains was beautiful. Owners Greg and Sabina were very helpful. Breakfast had a decent selection, great coffee!
We had a small refrigerator and microwave in our room too. We didn't get to enjoy the hot tub, but it was there for those who wanted to use it. The owners have lots of suggestions on touring the area. We would definetly stay there again.

lovely hotel shame about the owner

by TripAdvisor Member hughina

stayed in this hotel from vogue for 1 night
we had booked for 2 nights but had to cancel second night due to time constraints THE owner could not have been more rude if he tried ,we were treated like dirt even though we offered to pay 2nd night . The hotel is 5 miles from any shops we had nothing in the room to make a coffee there were 2 beds in the room but we were asked to use 1 even though it was the most expensive of all our booked hotels .Breakfast was served in reception so you took your bun and coffee back to your room or waited for the 1 table while the owner glared at you . Thare are so many rules
you are bound to slip up .My wife and I traveled 3000 miles around Montana and were treated great except for this hotel .
give it a wide birth there are lots of other hotels near by

great place to stay

by TripAdvisor Member LuoBoston

My husband and I stayed there for two nights. The owner was absolutely enthusiastic and very helpful. He gave us great suggestions about hiking trails, when and how to observe wild life, as well as recommending great places to eat.

And we did see animals in the valley right out of our window. It was so cute to relax in the outdoor hot tub in a chilly night listening to the elks sing.

Outstanding Lodging

by TripAdvisor Member MTBWannabe

Stayed four nights the first week of October and can't wait to return. The owners Greg and Sabina were friendly and enthusiastic. They provided outstanding advice for dining, soaking in hot springs, and viewing wildlife. The Cottage Suite was clean, well stocked, and beautifully furnished. We were even able to barbecue steaks in the evening. We saw mule deer, elk, and pronghorn all from the front porch. Yellowstone park is only a short 15 minute drive. Overall Outstanding!

Yellowstone Bain Inn--Great, quiet location!

by TripAdvisor Member hikingluvr

Stayed here for 1 night and wish we would have booked for 2 nights. Clean, quiet and affordable. Although we didn't get to meet Sabrina, Greg was very helpful and a good host. The hot tub was closed which we knew about before we arrived. We look forward to staying here on our future trips to Yellowstone!
